Research Chairs

Developping research

Facing today’s complex challenges, ENS Paris-Saclay reaffirms its mission: breaking down disciplinary silos to create new solutions. Through the ENS@360 program, the School fosters multidisciplinary research and education, enabling ambitious projects that transform how we understand and act.

The major challenges of our time—climate, energy, health, digital and social transformations—are deeply interconnected. They call for systemic, cross-disciplinary approaches that bring together fundamental sciences, engineering, and the humanities and social sciences.

Multidisciplinarity has always been a hallmark of ENS Paris-Saclay: in education, it is one of the four competencies required for graduation; in research, it inspired the very design of our building, conceived to foster collaboration across laboratories and disciplines.

With the ENS@360 program, we aim to take this ambition to a new level: developing large-scale projects that promote cross-cutting perspectives and accelerate the emergence of innovative solutions to contemporary crises. Our goal is to create new research chairs and enable every ENS student to experience genuine early-stage research on these pressing issues.
