Plan Your Donation

As a public establishment with a scientific, cultural and professional vocation, the ENS Paris-Saclay can receive donations and bequests. Preparing your donation in advance helps you make the best of it.

Bequests, the Promise of Transmission

Bequests, a secular scholarly tradition, is of utmost importance to maintain and develop academic institutions. This kind of donation allows not only for the preservation of values and knowledge through generations, but also to support innovative and ambitious projects. At the ENS Paris-Saclay, bequests ensure the perpetuation of our educational and research missions, while giving donors the opportunity to leave a lasting imprint on the future.

What you should know:

  • Any asset can be bequeathed, and there is no minimum amount.
  • The only formality required to make a bequest is to write your will, which can be modified at any point during your lifetime.
  • One rule must be observed: the legitim which protects your legal heirs and defines the available share of your estate you can give away.

Donations, to Transmit Right Away

Donations allow you, through a notarial deed, to pass down the ownership of one or more fiscal or property assets: apartments, houses, land, stocks, etc.

Like bequests, you can only donate assets that are part of the available share of your estate. And, like for monetary donations, it is fiscally advantageous, as 66% of its amount can be deducted from your income tax.

There are several kinds of donation, which respectively allow you:

  • To transmit an asset “outright”;
  • To transmit the bare ownership of an asset while keeping the usufruct during your lifetime;
  • To keep the bare ownership of an asset while receiving any income produced by the asset (rent, dividends…).

Life Insurance, to Save Up on Behalf of the School

Do you already have a life insurance contract? At any time, you can choose to name the ENS Paris-Saclay as the beneficiary of your contract or add it to the list of existing beneficiaries simply by making an amendment to the contract.

You are planning on concluding a contract with your insurance or your bank? You can directly name the ENS Paris-Saclay as a beneficiary.

All of these options are available to you without any administrative procedure or fee.

A Procedure That Requires Counseling

You may need time and counseling to decide on a plan of transmission. The Board of External Relations, Alumni and Sponsors will always be ready to answer your questions and guide you through the procedures.
