Goals of this partnership

Foster interest in science

For 30 years, the ENGIE Foundation has worked to contribute to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on education, biodiversity, energy accessibility, the fight against poverty and social insertion. This collaboration with the ENS Paris-Saclay is a perfect example of this mission. The foundation supports the School’s initiatives to raise awareness of science among young people. These awareness programs aim to reinforce the academic ambitions of young people from a wide array of backgrounds, especially women, and to fight self-censorship.

What could be more exciting than to spark interest in science among children, to make them want to understand the world and to find their place in it? More social diversity in higher education, more women in science, more sustainable energy, these causes should fuel our society’s transition… Nathalie Carrasco, president of the ENS Paris-Saclay

Actions supported by the ENGIE Foundation

Mentoring elementary school classes

Our students raise awareness of science among children through scientific mediation programs in schools. This program also allows these young minds to discover the job of researcher.

Opening our doors to school children

Throughout the school year, the ENS Paris-Saclay welcomes school children on campus for scientific awareness workshops. The Tiny Researchers Village welcomes 300 school children from priority establishments for a wide array of pedagogical workshops.

Opening our doors to middle schoolers

Each year, the School opens its doors to students in their last year of middle school to make them discover what it means to pursue scientific studies, the jobs one can do after such studies, and learn about higher education in general. This program aims at awakening scientific callings and to raise awareness of how diverse scientific careers are.
