Margot Del-Valle-Lezier recently launched an Instagram account under the handle @m.dvl.bd, on which she shares her first scientific comic strips. These strips, which she created during her specific student involvement year (ASPEN) at Inserm, aim at making science more accessible and interesting for a large audience.

On her account, Margot tackles varied subjects such as cell biology, genetics and medical discoveries. Her creative, entertaining and easy-to-understand illustrations allow her readers to understand complex scientific concepts.

Scientific research moves at such a fast pace that it is harder than ever to just keep up; there is a widening gap between scientific fields and society at large. On the other hand, health is a topic that impacts all of us. With my drawings and speech bubbles, I wanted to make it easier for a large public to understand the mechanisms that keep our bodies healthy, and to keep up to date with recent discoveries in biomedical research

This initiative is a reflection of her commitment to bring scientific research and the public closer together, using comic strips as a means of education. Her work is an invitation to discover science in a new way, combining academic precision and artistic expression.
