This support highlights her commitment and academic success in a field where parity is still a challenge

Can you explain the choices you made for your academic career?

In high school, I was interested in science, and especially in aerospace. Then I realized I didn’t really like engineering, but that I was really fond of mathematical research. Math can be applied in many fields, neurosciences, health, environmental sciences…

How did you react upon learning that you were going to be the beneficiary of a “Women in Science” scholarship?

I was extremely happy and proud to be able to promote the merits of women in science, because there aren’t many of us. Representation is important in this field, and it is crucial to show that some women do choose science.

Do you have any advice for young girls hesitating to pursue science?

Obviously, you mustn’t censor yourself. After graduating high school, I felt like I would never succeed in a scientific preparatory class for nationwide competitive exams. And yet, I was as successful as my male peers: you’ve got to try!

What are your professional goals?

Ideally, I would like to be a professor and a researcher, and continue my research while teaching.
